What is Storyhouse Women?

Storyhouse Women is a weekend of events at Storyhouse celebrating women, girls and non-binary people.

The weekend is a vibrant celebration of empowerment and connection and a place for urgent conversations. The events include thought-provoking discussions, empowering workshops, captivating performances and films, a marketplace and more.

How much time do I need to commit to?

There are 13 meetings which will take place at Storyhouse fortnightly on a Tuesday afternoon 3.30 – 5pm. You will need to be available for the majority of the dates and they will be in -person. You will also need to be free on the weekend of the festival 10 + 11 May. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday 5th November.

What does Young Changemakers involve?

We are looking for approx. 8 young people to join the programming team. Over the 13 meetings you will work as a team to decide on the content of a 1 hour speaking event which will be part of the weekend schedule. This might be a panel discussion, interview or presentation. This doesn’t necessarily mean you will be on stage speaking unless this was something you were keen to do.

You will also have the time to organise some additional activities you can provide for the audiences to enjoy throughout the weekend. This could be a workshop or a storytelling event for young children. It will be your chance to bring energy and excitement to the weekend of events.

What's in it for me?

This is great experience if you are keen to get into a career in Events Management or Programming.

This opportunity and experience can also helpful in UCAS and college applications, job applications and general life experience.

I would like to be involved but don’t want to be part of the programming team. Is there anything else I can do?

If you would like to volunteer at the festival on the 10-11 May, please complete the form and state your interest. There will be other roles for you.

How do I apply?

To register your interest for either the programming team or volunteering during the weekend please complete this form:
