Join Storyhouse Women this autumn for a fully funded 4-week programme designed to help you build confidence, become more resilient and feel empowered.

This interactive, gamified experience welcomes women of all ages (18+) and backgrounds from Chester and beyond. Storyhouse is a trans-inclusive organisation.

Delivered by the award-winning Girls in Charge and the Professional Rebel, this programme promises to be a transformative journey you won’t want to miss.

The programmes runs for 4 consecutive Mondays from 30th September  –  21st October 7.30pm – 9pm. Please check you are available for all 4 sessions before you apply.

The programme is supported by Chester Community Foundation and Storyhouse, and is free of charge to participants. Limited places available, subject to application.

Has feeling confident been an issue in your life? Has something left you feeling less confident lately? Maybe you feel like life has hit a standstill, or that you’re simply struggling to find your voice in personal and professional settings? Whether you’re fresh out of college or enjoying retirement, seeking a confidence boost for your career or everyday interactions, this programme is for you. Join us and reignite your inner strength and resilience.

We will tackle different topics in 90-minute sessions once a week. Over 4 sessions, we will cover mindset changes and skills development. The schedule is as follows:

Week 1: Embrace Your Strengths

Week 2: How to Communicate Effectively

Week 3: Develop Change & Resilience Mindset

Week 4: Motivation & Goal-setting

You won’t just be learning from the facilitators and their engaging expert content; you’ll be enriched by the diverse experiences and backgrounds of the incredible women around you. We hope that through this journey, you’ll gain invaluable insights and inspiration from one another.

About the Facilitators

Maggie Chen is founder of the award-winning, Chester-based organisation Girls in Charge. The initiative uses gamification to upskill women and help them build confidence. Having worked with nearly 7,000 women in 3 continents, Girls in Charge wants to create a world where everyone has the skills to pursue and create career opportunities regardless of gender and background. Their work has been taken to the House of Lords and has had media coverage in Europe and Asia. In her spare time, Maggie also serves on the Ethics Panel of the Cheshire Constabulary and leads the Engagement Board at Enterprise Cheshire & Warrington.

Marie-Claire Ashcroft – known as the Professional Rebel, is a local businesswoman whose work concentrates on confident self-expression. With almost 20 years experience as a photographer, business mentor and confidence facilitator, she guides people to ‘change the lens through which people see themselves’. With her trademark smile and infectious energy, her background in low self-esteem, depression and cPTSD comes as a surprise to many, as does her inspiring personal journey with late discovered neurodivergence. She’s helped 100s of women all over the world rewrite their personal stories and reclaim the fullness of who they are. Her work has been featured in Virgin Entrepreneur, Standard Issue for Women and The Counsellor’s Directory. Clients have said that ‘What you do saves lives’.
