Storyhouse Elders: Monthly Event

A series of monthly events taking place on the first Monday (apart from July where it’s the 2^nd Monday) of every month 10.30 – 12noon in the Garret Bar.

Monday 3 March  –  Sketch Book Workshop  

Aleta Doran is the Emerita Artist in Residence at Chester Cathedral. Aleta’s career has involved creating mosaics for public spaces, including the Countess of Chester Country Park and local schools and hospitals, and delivering art workshops. Aleta has also curated exhibitions including Trena Cox: Reflections 100.

This sketchbook workshop will emphasise drawing for wellbeing – participants don’t require any previous experience. Everyone Welcome.

Monday 7 April – Co-operation and Team work

Hear the story behind The Capacity Foundation presented by charity founder Stephen Maund. Working among a group of 40 villages in northern Malawi, The Capacity Foundation is seeking to end the community’s dependence on international aid – making it ‘truly sustainable.’ As part of this event you will also be invited to play games and take part in the challenges that are used to upskill the community.

Monday 5 May – Scams Awareness

Join Laura Jones from Age UK Cheshire who will be presenting information about  scams to be aware of and how best to keep yourself protected. There will be information to take away and the opportunity to book further 1:1 advice.

Monday 2 June – Meet the Neighbours – Chester Cheese Shop

This month we welcome Chester Cheese Shop to talk about the health benefits of cheese! Ann Faulkner, shop owner and cheese specialist will present a short talk and allow time for questions and discussion.
