Amy Truesdale
Amy Truesdale MBE is a Taekwondo athlete who has been practising taekwondo for over 28 Years. Amy is currently a paralympic athlete on the world class taekwondo program based in Manchester and her highest achievements include paralympic Gold Medalist in Paris 2024 and bronze medal list in the 2020 paralympic Games.
Isha Nawaz
Isha is a working-class girl from Manchester who grew up on council estates, now lone parent of 2 herself. Over the years she has experienced racism at school, work as well as in day to day life. In her adult years she has had diagnosis of ADHD and Dyslexia which has really helped her better understand herself and has led to her success working for Global banks and now a global energy company.
Lynsey Hyslop
Lynsey is the Senior Player Development Manager at The Rugby Players Association, where she leads the personal development, dual career, wellbeing, and transition programme for the England Women’s Rugby team. She is also the host of the UK Top 40 careers podcast, “When I Grow Up I Want To Be: The Career Podcast,” which explores diverse career paths and inspires listeners to think beyond traditional roles.
Diane Wrights
Diane’s career has been very varied, starting with working on a market, working as a marketing director, self-employed, owning a shop and finally working her way up to Associate Dean at Manchester Met University. Diane retrained and took higher level qualifications in later life. She experienced many barriers during her working life as the only female in a very male dominated environment for around 20 years.
