Step into an evening at the local pub like no other. Every night the same landlady, the same regulars, the same shots, until suddenly a stranger gets blown in from the cold.
Restore your weary soul with Olivier Award Nominated Lay Down Your Burdens. With extraordinary physical performance, brave testimonials, music from a live Ceilidh band and riotous pub games, this dance theatre show draws together those who have been estranged or never even dreamed they were connected. Set in a pub on-stage, you’re
invited to join in with the proceedings and participate in the fun, as much as you like.
Choreographer Rhiannon Faith makes socially conscious work that raises awareness and lobbies for change. Developed from real-life experiences of the company and conversations with communities, this radically tender dance theatre show invites you to explore the beauty of humanity and the eternal need for community and compassion.

Seating
This event will take place on the stage of the main theatre with unreserved seating. There are a mix of close to the action bar stools, chairs with backs and wheelchair spaces available. If you have an access requirement and so need a specific seat, please email hello@storyhouse.com to let us know.
