Liverpool Story
with introduction from director Daniel Draper
Event details
Part of: Chester International Film Festival 2025 (CIFF25)
Directed by Daniel Draper
From the makers behind Almost Liverpool 8 comes Liverpool Story. Finding beauty in the ordinary, Liverpool takes centre stage in this year-in-the-life documentary.
Communities and voices are observed from a fresh perspective as the city navigates through an eventful year. Mirroring the ebb and flow of the River Mersey, Liverpool Story is an intimate document of daily life; observing the city and its people over the passing seasons.
Shut Out The Light Films are a local independent film company who spent the whole of 2023 filming in every postcode for their latest film. The most filmed in city outside of London, Liverpool finally gets a film of its own – made by people who live here. Themes of home, belonging and memory make this a poetic presentation of the lesser-known Liverpool, from drag nights to doggy day care and everything in between.
This screening will be introduced by director Daniel Draper.
