Bi-Monthly, 2nd and 4th Thursday 10am - 12pm
Chester Humanists Out Loud
Event details
Join us for a morning of stimulating conversation. This informal and friendly group meets twice a month to listen to an extract, short story or poem which is read aloud. Frequent pauses in the reading give us the opportunity to chat about what we’ve imagined/thought of/felt as we’ve listened. We also take a break for tea or coffee. Amanda, who leads the sessions, will read aloud and provide the texts. No one else need read aloud unless they so wish. It’s an enjoyable way to meet people and explore some great writing.

“Literature can be a form of ‘doing philosophy.’ It’s a form of ethical exploration, partly by seeing things through very different points of view and insights.” Julian Baggini, philosopher and patron of Humanists UK.
