In this engaging 60-minute talk, Eliza shares her journey into photography, art, and activism, exploring how Cheer Up Luv has become a powerful platform for addressing public sexual harassment and everyday sexism. Through personal stories and key campaigns, Eliza demonstrates how art and social media can challenge societal norms, empower individuals, and reclaim public spaces.
This talk aims to create a ripple effect resulting in an impact beyond participating audience members, by beginning a conversation that will be continued within workplaces, friendship circles, and communities.
The talk covers topics including:
- How society normalises street harassment and why it must change
- Dispelling myths like “boys will be boys” and inspiring actionable change
- Harnessing the power of collective storytelling through photography
- Addressing street harassment through an intersectional lens
- Leveraging creative methods to spark activism and create lasting impact
This talk is for anyone seeking an introduction to the widespread issue of sexual harassment and its normalisation, with practical ways to tackle it. Ideal for those eager to spark meaningful conversations, it encourages active participation with an audience Q&A, and explores how grassroots, creative methods can drive impactful change.
