Blue Lantern Sessions: George Borowski and MORA
Event details
Priority booking for Members now open!
General booking 11am, Saturday 8 March
Expect a Jools Holland-style setting, with the best sell-out names from the acoustic scene.
Experience the Blue Lantern Sessions at Storyhouse, an intimate evening of acoustic music featuring top Roots, World, and Acoustic artists.
Inspired by an open mic where they first met (called the Blue Lantern), Welsh duo Igloo Hearts bring this vision back to life, with a unique twist, at The Garret Theatre.
Led by James and Katie MacGregor, (recently featured on the Channel 4 show ‘The Piano’) Igloo Hearts promises an immersive experience akin to a cozy living room atmosphere.
Prepare for captivating performances that evoke goosebumps and stir the emotions.
The evening begins with Igloo Hearts as hosts, followed by an ‘up and coming’ support artist, before the main headline act takes to the stage.
George Borowski
If you’ve seen George Borowski before, you’re already a fan. If not, then you are about to be.
As well as working and touring with such acts as James, 10cc, The Pixies, Teenage Fanclub, The Waterboys, David Essex, Bonnie Rait, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Happy Mondays, Meatloaf, Tina Turner and Radiohead, George is an acclaimed performer in his own right. One of those “musician’s musicians” one might say. Unique, heartfelt and downright talented.
“I have never seen a performer so completely connected with what he was doing on stage.” – Frank Black (The Pixies)
MORA
Gifted with a voice described as “Janis Joplin meets Nina Simone”, MORA has been performing since 2018, she has been captivating audiences with pieces reflecting our times, sharing compassion with conviction whilst shaking the foundations with powerful vocals and unifying anthems.
‘…imagine a collaboration between Gary Moore and Alison Moyet with an extra helping of social conscience’ – Robin Boardman (Louder Than War)
The undeniable chemistry of this duo makes every performance unforgettable. With sold-out shows time and time again, an evening with the Borowskis is one you’ll never forget!
