Chester International Film Festival 2024
The Chester International Film Festival (CIFF24) is back with a remarkable global selection of contemporary feature films that share stories and experiences from a wide array of countries, ranging from Ireland to Japan. Curated by the Chester Film Society, this year’s festival boasts four preview screenings—including Oscar-nominated films Io Capitano and The Teachers’ Lounge—starting with Hirokazu Kore-eda’s much anticipated new film, Monster.
Alongside this selection of world cinema screenings, we are also celebrating the tenth year of the Chester Animation Festival.
Each screening will start at 6pm and will be introduced by an expert from the Department of Languages and Cultures at the University of Chester.
All tickets are £6 or £5.40 for Storyhouse Card Members.
The festival is curated by Chester Film Society in association with Storyhouse and sponsored by the Department of Languages Culture at the University of Chester. With thanks to Vain Hair and Beauty.
Chester Film Society was founded in 1970. Our motto is “enjoying cinema together“! We specialise in world cinema, seeking out films that often miss the cinema and/or streaming services. So why not come and join us.
