Art of Action
Taking place from October, Art of Action is a major UK-wide celebration of big screen action done for real, focusing on the actors and stunt performers risking life and limb to create some of the most memorable on-screen action.
At Storyhouse, we will be joining the action with our own hand-picked film programme curated with the aim of displaying diverse talent on screen and behind the camera, starting with early 1920s swashbuckler, The Mark of Zorro, accompanied by a live score from Northern Silents. Along the way, we’ll be screening newly restored versions of Akira Kurosawa’s monumental Seven Samurai and Kathryn Bigelow’s 90s cult thriller Point Break, a weekend of spectacular films dedicated to the extraordinary action career of Academy Award-winning actress (and one-time Chester dance student) Michelle Yeoh, and much more!
