“Hearty laughs, biting observations…ten times better than the source material” 5★ Entertainment Now

Following sold-out shows and rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, an off-Broadway run, and sold-out performances across North America, award-winning parody show Six Chick Flicks (…or a Legally Blonde Pretty Woman Dirty Danced on the Beaches While Writing a Notebook on the Titanic) will be on tour in UK from 6th April 2024.

Six Chick Flicks is a hilarious, feminist send-up of your favourite chick flicks: Titanic, Pretty Woman, Beaches, Legally Blonde, The Notebook, and Dirty Dancing. In an evening full of laughs, two performers bring to life all the iconic moments of these beloved films, with biting wit, fast and fun montages, dance breaks, original songs, and improvised moments that make every show a new experience. Six Chick Flicks was awarded Orlando Fringe Patrons Pick 2022, Toronto Fringe Patrons Pick 2022, Edmonton Fringe Holdover Series, and the International Fringe Encore Series.

The show is written by Kerry Ipema and TJ Dawe, who teamed up following a successful UK tour, off-Broadway run, Edinburgh Fringe, and major US tour of their parody show One Woman Sex and the City.

Six Chick Flicks is performed by KK Apple and Kerry Ipema. Ipema is an actor, writer, and podcaster in New York City. She co-hosts and produces the podcast “Truly Darkly Creeply” and continues to perform One Woman Sex and the City. Apple is a writer, comedian, and filmmaker in New York City. She’s an alumni of the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and her recent short film The Launch premiered at the 2023 Seattle International Film Festival.

Co-Writer Dawe co-created and directed stage parodies of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Batman, Stranger Things, The Walking Dead, Sex and the City and more. He’s worked with Richard Dreyfuss, founding editor of The Onion Scott Dikkers, and had his stage play Toothpaste and Cigars adapted into the feature film What If, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan and Adam Driver.
