Even a 1% donation in your Will ensures a legacy that sustains the arts in Chester for generations to come.

Remember Storyhouse in your Will

If you decide to leave at least 10% of your estate to charity, the Inheritance Tax rate on the rest of your estate may reduce from 40% to 36%. If you would like to leave a gift in your Will to Storyhouse, we strongly recommend you that you speak to a solicitor to ensure that your wishes will be carried out as you intend.

An example of wording you could use:

I leave my / X share (s) of my residuary estate for Storyhouse, Hunter Street, Chester, CH1 2AR, registered charity number 1121007 (England and Wales), absolutely for its general charitable purposes and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer for the time being shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.

An example of wording you could use for specific requests:

I bequeath my ________________________________________ (eg. property, shares, jewellery, works of art etc.) to Storyhouse, Hunter Street, Chester, CH1 2AR, registered charity number 1121007 (England and Wales), and the receipt of a proper officer for the time being of the said body shall be a full discharge to my Executors and Trustees.

Please describe the asset to be given.

Please note that you need to complete a letter of wishes in suitable terms if you want to specify any particular purpose(s) for which your gift is to be applied. If you send a copy of your letter to us in advance, we can check whether your wishes are appropriate and legally achievable.

Leave a lasting legacy for a loved one

Donate to have a plaque fitted in either our Theatre or Cinema. This is a great way of remembering your loved one whilst supporting Storyhouse.

By donating £350 we will fit a plaque with your loved ones name on it in our Circle seating area in the theatre.

By donating £450 we will fit a plaque with your loved ones name on it in our Cinema.
