Jobs at Storyhouse
Find out more about the latest opportunities to join our team, including full-time, part-time and freelance roles.
Storyhouse is one of the UK’s foremost cultural charities. Our home in Chester has become one of the most successful cultural buildings in the country, with over 1 million visits per year. We pride ourselves on being a community hub and an essential part of the region’s cultural landscape.
We always strive to have an exciting, broad range of voices in our workforce. We’re always on the lookout for people who share our values and vision and bring a variety of life experience and skills to their work.
We value lived experience and your unique perspective just as much as professional experience. Please don’t hesitate to apply if you feel your experience matches up with one of our roles.

Our Diversity Statement
We are committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. We intend to meaningfully embed this commitment at all levels of our organisation, and across the portfolio of the work we produce, host, and collaborate on. We understand that representation is not the same as equity, and are therefore committed to radical change, building towards a culture of inclusion, which celebrates diverse life experiences, voices and perspectives, and removes barriers to access for all.

Work Experience Week at Storyhouse
Applications for Storyhouse Work Experience Week 2025 have now closed.
Please check back here in early 2026 for details on our Work Experience Week 2026 including information on how to apply.

These opportunities are available to 14 – 19 year olds only (Year 10 – Year 13) in school/college or are home-educated but within the age bracket.
Work Experience Week gives young people the opportunity to experience what it’s like working in a busy cultural organisation. During Work Experience Week, young people will take part in workshops and talks with Storyhouse staff to discover the different departments and elements that make up the world of Storyhouse. If you’re thinking about a career in the arts then this is a great opportunity for you!
- Receive a backstage tour of the building
- Be given the chance to meet staff from different departments such as producing, technical, library, cinema, marketing, fundraising, engagement, hospitality and front of house
- Take part in challenges set by Storyhouse members of staff throughout the week
- Put skills into practice by creating their own takeover event at the end of the week
- Gain tickets to see a Storyhouse Originals play over the summer
The week is free to take part in. To apply, you must be free for all of the days and times listed below and be able to come to Storyhouse in Chester every day.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer work experience placements outside of this programme.
