About the festival
Chester Literature Festival plays host to some of the biggest names from the world of literature and beyond, right across Storyhouse.
Later this year we have an incredible line-up of authors, poets, writers and thinkers heading to Storyhouse. The festival brings our community together to learn, read, and celebrate the incredible power of books, libraries and reading.
Some of the big names already announced for this year’s festival include Martin Fry, Simon Reeve, John Nicol and Lucy Worsley.
A busy programme of literary-themed events and performances run alongside our headline shows, including our famous Poetry Pub Crawl, Local Authors Party, A Blind Date with a Book and new for 2024, a comic swap shop.
Last years festival proved to be extremely popular with over 3400 people attending. And this year’s event promises to be another great celebration of the written and spoken word!
